Provider Orientation
Medi-Cal enrolled providers attempting to enroll or re-certify into the Family PACT Program must complete the legislatively mandated Provider Orientation per W&I Code, Section (24005(k). The Family PACT Provider Orientation provides an overview on comprehensive family planning, program benefits and services, client eligibility, provider responsibilities and compliance
Site Certifiers, rendering, and non-medical providers administering the Family PACT Program must complete all required trainings prior to submitting an enrollment application.
Only the Site Certifier is required to attend the Provider Orientation hosted via Zoom.
Provider Orientation Requirements:
- All participants are required to have full audio and video capabilities enabled on a personal computer/laptop to fully participate in the Provider Orientation
- Login with a cell phone is not permitted.
- Participants arriving 15 minutes past the start time of the Provider Orientation will not be permitted entry, and those departing early will not be granted their Certificate of Attendance.
Identification Requirement:
- Please submit a color copy of your photo ID (state-issued driver license or state-issued identification card) to OFPProviderTrainings@dhcs.ca.gov prior to attending the Provider Orientation.
Audio/Visual Requirement:
- To maintain registration for the Family PACT Provider Orientation, providers must attend an audio/visual testing session.
Note: Failure to meet the identification and audio/visual requirement will result in cancellation of your Family PACT Provider Orientation registration.
2.5 CME Credits At No Cost:
This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the Essential Areas and Policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine and California Prevention Training Center. The University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine is accredited by the ACCME to provide continuing medical education to physicians.

Pain Management Tips, Tricks, and Evidence
Patients often experience varying levels of pain or discomfort from procedures performed during family planning visits. The purpose of this webinar is to provide clinicians with evidenced-based tips, tricks, and strategies on how to prevent and minimize pain during family planning procedures. The webinar will focus on the most commonly performed family planning procedures such as: IUD insertion/removal, implant insertion/removal, colposcopy, biopsy, and vulvar biopsy.
Less common procedures for non-gynecologists such as LEEP, cryo, and procedures not covered by the California Family PACT Program will not be discussed.
